Sightseeing in Vienna

Vienna, the capital of Austria is a European city that conflates enchantment and beauty with culture, vogue and sophistication. Mixing the conventional elegance of "Mittel-Europa" with all the requisites of twenty-first-century life style, it's an exhaustively cosmopolitan city that offers a friendly, mellow atmosphere, embellished buildings, funky nightspots, fantastic Viennese coffeehouses and more history than you can shake a stick at- sightseeing in Vienna is a real fun.

The City Anchor Clock located on the oldest square of Vienna was built between 1911 and 1917 after the plans of the painter Franz von Matsch. It represents a typical Art Nouveau design. Laying in the middle of a splendid park the City Belvedere Palace, constructed for Prince Eugene of Savoy has two splendid palaces on the Belvedere grounds. The City Burgtheater (National Theatre) The Burgtheater is located in the first district. In 1741 Empress Maria Theresia passed on an unused dance-house over to the theatre-company Sellier. Since then, this building was used as a theatre.

If you want to enjoy a brilliant view over Vienna the City Danube Tower & Danube Island is the right destination to go. The Viennese affectionately call the tower "Concrete needle". It is 352 meters high and was built within 20 months. Vienna's pride The City Haas House is one of the most exciting buildings in Vienna .Images of St. Stephen's Cathedral excogitated by the straight glass facade of Haas House are a popular motif. The City Hofburg was in the first place a medieval palace, but today only the castle chapel retrieves of its medieval past. The Hofburg was extended to a splendid mansion when the Habsburg's power increased. The City Karlskirche is the biggest cathedral in Baroque style north of the Alps. If you want to buy fresh vegetable and sundry tidbits the City Naschmarkt is the right place to go. This market is a Viennese institution dating back to the 16th century. The City Ring Boulevard is 4 kilometers long and encircles the city centre.

If you want your sightseeing in Vienna to be complete, you must pay a visit, to the other hot spots besides all these places.
